A treasured tradition, thoughtfully shared
Our Story
Some traditions don't need explaining. They just get passed down.
Bird's nest was one of those in my family. My great-grandparents had it. My grandmother, my mum, my aunties and uncles — all of them kept it as a natural part of how they looked after themselves. I grew up watching, and eventually I understood.
After pregnancy, through the exhausting beautiful chaos of raising little ones, bird's nest became something I turned to for myself. It was a quiet ritual in a loud season of life. It still is.
Being a busy working mum, I know how easy it is to put yourself last. CrownNest & Co. is my way of making that small act a little easier for other families across Australia. Every product is sourced from Indonesia and chosen with care, because anything less wouldn't feel right to me.
It's more than a product. It's my family's tradition - a little piece of home. I'd love for it to become part of yours.

The Nest Notes
Health & Benefits
What are the health benefits of bird's nest? - Bird's nest is naturally rich in glycoproteins, amino acids and antioxidants. It is widely valued for supporting radiant skin, strengthening immunity, improving energy levels and aiding the body's recovery and repair.
Can I eat bird's nest during pregnancy? - Bird's nest has been a trusted part of Asian wellness tradition during pregnancy and postpartum recovery for generations. Many mothers — myself included — have found it deeply nourishing during this season of life. As always, we recommend checking with your healthcare provider if you have specific health concerns.
How soon will I notice the benefits? - Bird's nest works best with consistency. Most people begin to notice a difference in their skin, energy and overall wellbeing after several weeks of regular consumption. Think of it as a long-term act of self-care rather than a quick fix.
Storage & Shelf Life
How should I store dry bird's nest? - Keep it in an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong odours. Stored properly, dry bird's nest has a long shelf life of up to two years.
What about after it's been prepared? - Once cooked, bird's nest should be refrigerated and consumed within two days for the best taste and freshness. We recommend preparing smaller portions at a time so nothing goes to waste.
Preparation
Soak - Place the bird’s nest in clean water and allow it to soften.
Separate and rinse - Gently separate the strands and remove any remaining natural particles if required.
Double-boil with water until the desired texture is reached. Add rock sugar or other ingredients according to preference.
Soaking and cooking times may vary depending on the nest variety, thickness and preferred texture.

Classic Sweet Bird's Nest Soup

Ingredients: 10 grams dry bird's nest. 500 milliliters water (for soaking). 400 milliliters water (for double boiling). 20 grams rock sugar. Some goji berries or dried red apples.
Steps:
Soak the nest: Place 10 grams dry bird's nest in a bowl with 500 milliliters water (for soaking). Soak for 60–480 minutes or overnight until soft and expanded. Gently rinse and remove any fine feathers.
Prepare the double boiler: Add the soaked bird's nest, 400 milliliters water (for double boiling), 20 grams rock sugar and goji berries or dried red apples into a heatproof bowl. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water.
Double boil: Cover and double boil on low heat for 30–40 minutes until the nest is silky and the broth is lightly fragrant.
Serve: Serve warm or chilled. A quiet bowl of this goes a long way.
Notes: Best enjoyed warm on cool mornings or chilled as an afternoon treat. Consistency is key — make this part of your weekly routine for the best results.
Bird's Nest in Warm Milk

Steps:
Soak the nest: Soak 10 grams dry bird's nest in 400 milliliters water (for soaking) for 60–480 minutes or overnight. Once softened and expanded, drain gently and set aside.
Warm the milk: Warm 200 milliliters full cream milk or oat milk in a small saucepan over low heat. Do not boil. Add 15 grams rock sugar or honey and 0.3 tsp vanilla extract and stir until dissolved.
Combine: Add the soaked bird's nest into the warm milk mixture. Stir gently and let it sit on the lowest heat for 5 minutes.
Serve: Pour into small bowls or glasses. Serve warm or chilled. Simple, soft and deeply nourishing.
